Waterhouse revealed details about her breakup with Cooper that she didn’t want to talk about
Suki Waterhouse struggled to see the bright side of her separation with Bradley Cooper.
The Daisy Jones and the Six actress revealed that she had previously believed that her three-year romance would never end. That was in 2015.
«I really will say that I’m pretty strong at this point,» Suki stated in the August issue of British Vogue, «but when something very public happens to you and the story behind it is dark and difficult,
and you’re actually not doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s very isolating and disorientating.»
She continued, «It probably has taken a decade to work myself out and actually be able to have this expansion in my life.»
She has, in turn, used music as a release. Suki wrote «Brutally,» a song she recorded in 2016 and put on her EP Milk Teeth in 2022, with all of her anguish.
«Your 20s are pretty sadistic,» remarked the 34-year-old. «The love I experienced [then] was only ever a fetishization, and I think when you only get loved in that way, you only get punished.»
Nevertheless, the «Good Looking» singer’s life has taken a positive turn after welcoming a daughter with fiancé Robert Pattinson in March.
She went on, «You’re almost instantly afforded a little bit more respect when you get into your 30s.» It’s simultaneously surprising and kind of fun.»
Not that falling in love changed her perspective on heartbreak in her writing. She acknowledged, «I can get angry for my friends.» «Rob is still capable of a shit song. There are plenty of things to be angry about.
