Vanessa Morgan shared the happy news that she will become a mother again
Former Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan’s family is growing.
The 32-year-old, who is expecting her second child with partner James Karnik, is expected to give birth shortly.
The actress released pictures from their maternity photo shoot on July 6. Among the images are of the 6’9″ Canadian basketball player carrying her and covering her baby bump with his other hand.
Vanessa wrote, «So in love with this man, our family of 4 coming this month,» as the Instagram post’s caption. «#2 Surprise! I’m grateful, God.»
According to James, the Canadian actress, who has a three-year-old boy named River with her former Chicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech, is expecting a girl.
Alongside another image from the maternity shoot, the Vancouver Bandits star posted on his personal Instagram, saying, «Holdin BOTH my girls at the same time.»
Many of Vanessa’s friends and admirers sent her congratulations, including Madelaine Petsch, a fellow Riverdale alum who wrote, «I love you both,» in addition to mentioning,
«The way he lifts you with one arm,» in response to her former costar’s post.
The Wild Cards actress found it difficult to conceal her pregnancy during her recent round of red carpet appearances.
«Was three months pregnant here,» she captioned a photo of herself at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards in January that included a strapless red Zuhair Murad gown with a ruffled tulle and lace train on Instagram Stories.
«Almost couldn’t zip this dress up.»
A few weeks before Vanessa revealed her pregnancy with River, in 2022—roughly two years after her ex filed for divorce—she started dating 25-year-old James.
«Embarrassment and not wanting to face that you have a broken family is part of the biggest thing,» Vanessa said to Rachel Bilson and Olivia Allen on the March 11 Broad Ideas podcast.
After getting married, you wish to live out that vision. When you inform folks that things didn’t work out, you feel let down.»
