Kate Hudson makes her television debut as a singer on the show

Kate Hudson made her TV debut performing as a singer on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The 45-year-old Oscar-nominated actress sang Gonna Find Out from her upcoming debut album Glorious after being interviewed by Jimmy, 49, and playing a game of Catchphrase.

Kate switched into a long white tasseled dress with a plunging neckline for her performance.

She hit several high notes and flashed her cute smile while belting out the catchy tune.

Kate gave a polished performance of the song she previously said was inspired by those summer nights where you fancy someone, and you wonder if you’ll go home with them.

‘What are you talking about? That’s how you do it. Come on! Come on! Oh, my gosh, that’s amazing. Come on! Kate Hudson. That’s how you do it,’ Jimmy gushed after her performance.

‘Standing ovation, not too shabby,’ Jimmy added while hugging Kate.

Kate earlier discussed her debut album Glorious, due out on May 17 with Jimmy and said it was the ‘greatest feeling’ having it come out after two and a half years in the making.

‘I’ve loved music my entire life,’ Kate said.

Kate said she wrote songs with Linda Perry and her partner Danny Fujikawa for the album.

She said they had 26 songs in just two weeks and the album got its name from its title track Glorious that she described as a ‘big, sweeping ballad’.

Kate said she was touring and had an upcoming gig at The Bellwether in Los Angeles.

In addition to singing, Kate also has a comedy role in a Mindy Kaling show in which she plays a ‘female president of a huge, franchise basketball team.’
