Meghan Markle and Kimberly Williams-Paisley had a great lunch date.
The 42-year-old Duchess of Sussex and the 52-year-old actress, activist, and novelist dined together at Tre Lune in Montecito, California, on July 21, catching up over pasta and wine.
A source exclusively tells PEOPLE, «They had a wonderful time conversing and laughing together. The couple kept a low profile and was unconcerned about the other visitors.
Though they had not previously been pictured together before departing Tre Lune, the two have many personal and professional similarities.
Both women are Northwestern University alumni from Evanston, Illinois. Williams-Paisley graduated from the School of Communication in 1993, while the Duchess of Sussex received her degree in 2003 with a double major in theater and international studies.
Meghan and Williams-Paisley both have an acting history. Williams-Paisley, who is married to country musician Brad Paisley, rose to prominence in the 1991 comedy Father of the Bride and will next act in
Dog Gone and Jesus Revolution in 2023. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex appeared in the first seven seasons of the legal drama Suits before taking a break from acting upon her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.
