Halle Berry’s doctоr says she has the worst case of hеrpes ever, but missed the real cսlprit
Halle Berry was mis-diagnosed with the “worst case of herpes” her doctor had ever seen – but it turned out to be a very common condition.
The Catwoman star, 57, headed to her GP after suffering “intense pain” while having sex with her partner Van Hunt.
She was told that she was likely suffering from a sexually transmitted infection, and the pair both got tested – only to find out neither of them had herpes.
Halle sat down with American First Lady Jill Biden at A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit this week, explaining that what she really had was perimenopause.
She said: “First of all, my ego told me that I was going to skip it – I’m very safe, I’m healthy, I managed to get myself off of insulin and manage my diabetes since I’m 20 years old.
“My doctor had no knowledge and didn’t prepare me, that’s when I knew, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve got to use my platform, I have to use all of who I am, and I have to start making a change and a difference for other women.'»
She added that she wants to “help us change the way culture views women at this stage of our lives”.
Perimenopause, also known as menopause transition, starts several years before the menopause hits as the ovaries begin to produce less estrogen.
It tends to occur in your 40s, but can start earlier. Symptoms include night sweats, mood changes, changes in sexual desire, vaginal dryness and hot flashes.
During the conversation with Jill, Halle began to explain all the sex she was having with the “man of her dreams”, as Jill jumped in: “I didn’t know she was going to tell this story. I’m not talking about mine!”
Halle added: “We’re not exactly at the end. We’re sitting up here, two women who are clearly down the path of life, we are not done. We’re just getting started in our next act.”
The actress certainly isn’t letting something as simple as the menopause get her down, and she’s still content to pose totally naked for her fans on Instagram.
Earlier this year she stripped down for a steamy bath shot, showing off her toned legs in the water, right next to a naked statue of a man.
