Emma Roberts explains that she was never able to find the job she dreamed of as a child
Emma Roberts has stated that nepotism has not only cost her jobs in the industry, but that it has also prevented her from ever getting hired.
The 33-year-old former member of Scream Queens, who recently attributed Madame Web’s box office failure to «internet culture,» spoke candidly about the subject in an interview with Flaunt magazine.

Notable for his roles in films including Suits and The Dark Knight, actor Eric Roberts is her father, while actress Julia Roberts is her aunt.
The mother of one told the outlet, «I’ve lost more jobs than I’ve gained from being in the business.» «People have opinions, and sometimes those opinions may not be positive ones about members of your family.»
«I know I’ve lost a couple of jobs because of it, but I’ve never gotten one because of it.»

Notably, New York Magazine examined Hollywood nepotism in December 2022 with a cover that featured several celebrities’ faces plastered onto infants’ bodies.
Emma was conspicuously absent from the cover, though. She joked, «Should I be offended?» to Flaunt.
«Putting all the celebrity kids on the cover of a magazine about babies’ bodies was a cheap shot,» she went on.
«It seems like the «Nepo Baby» debate could have been the subject of a more insightful, nuanced piece in Vanity Fair, but instead it was just this kind of viral hate on people.»

Roberts discussed nepotism in more detail during an interview on the Table For Two With Bruce Bozzi program last month in June.
There are «two sides to the coin when it comes to the nepo babies discourse,» and many people are inevitably going to «have preconceived notions of you,» the beauty said in the episode.
«Oh, you know, you have a leg up because you’re a family in the industry,» is a common statement. However, the flip side of it is that you need to demonstrate your worth more.
