Close buddy of Affleck speaks out over reports of Lopez’s divorce
Regarding persistent rumors that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had broken up, the actor’s close buddy has spoken up.
After getting married in July 2022, Affleck, 51, and Lopez, 55, haven’t been seen together in months.
The singer celebrated her birthday alone, while the actor left the marital residence to purchase a new, $20.5 million estate in Pacific Palisades.
At the San Diego Comic Con on Sunday, 53-year-old filmmaker Kevin Smith told people that the actor «will let him know when he’s in a good place» and that he hasn’t contacted him yet, despite the recommendation of his wife Jennifer Schwalbach Smith.
Smith, who collaborated with Affleck on films such as Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay, and Silent Bob Reboot, stated: «It’s clear he’s been going through a difficult time, based on what the media has reported.»
Being the least reliable of his friends and the most evasive of them all, I «Oh, you should reach out to him,» said my wife.
‘I thought to myself, «The last person he needs to hear from right now is the guy who chats a lot» . He’ll inform me when he’s in a decent position, then.
Smith stated that he will talk to Affleck when he starts shooting the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob movie in the fall.
«I’ll be reaching out to him,» he declared. He might even show up, but I haven’t been in close proximity to the circumstance.
According to TMZ, the Academy Award winner closed escrow on a brand-new $20.5 million mansion in the beachside community.
Along with breakfast and dining areas, the property boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a movie room, walk-in closets, a separate family room, a powder room, a guest house, and other luxuries fit for a multi-million dollar home.
This is the clearest indication yet that Affleck and 55-year-old Jennifer Lopez’s marriage might be ending in divorce.
The I Am This… After buying the mansion for $60 million in May of last year, the artist and Affleck advertised their Beverly Hills home for $68 million earlier this month, but they were unable to find a buyer right away.
