Cody John and Emma Roberts have gotten engaged! On Tuesday, July 16, the 33-year-old scream queen revealed the exciting news on Instagram with a lighthearted comment, all the while flaunting her brilliant engagement ring in a selfie with her fiancé.
Emma captioned a joke, «Putting this here before my mom tells everyone.» Posing in front of what appeared to be a lake in the background, the couple joyfully gave the camera their brightest grins.
The Scream 4 actress’ social media caption was seemingly a reference to the time when her mother, Kelly Cunningham, shared a photo of her son, Rhodes, without asking for permission.
In early 2023, Kelly shared a snap of the 3-year-old — whom Emma shares with ex Garret Hedlund — to her Instagram account.
Emma and Cody went public with their relationship over the summer of 2022. At the time, Cody shared several photos to social media of them kissing and getting close. Like his fiancée, Cody is a fellow actor.
Despite the fact that the couple has occasionally shared Instagram pictures of themselves together, Emma recently provided an insight into their relationship in an interview with PEOPLE.
The We’re the Millers actor recalled that she and Cody had cried a little while watching a movie together.
Emma gushed in the interview, which was released on July 13, «My boyfriend and I were crying while we watched The Iron Claw.» We were laughing at each other for sobbing, which made us cry even more, and it was just a disaster of tears.
From 2019 to the beginning of 2022, Emma dated Garrett before falling in love with Cody. Despite their breakup, the ex-couple has been peacefully co-parenting their son.
Emma talked candidly about parenthood when she appeared on Today with Hoda & Jenna earlier this year. The actress said that Rhodes «came to visit her on set» when talking about her time spent working on Madame Web.
She continued, «And being a mom is amazing.» «And he’s three now.»
Emma mentioned that her mother has been supportive to her in raising Rhodes despite her demanding schedule as a working actor.
